I go to the gym in the morning. I use a solid, stick-type deodorant. It fricking melts into a gooey mess after sitting in the car all day. I just threw away my 3rd stick this month. Leaving the bag in the passenger compartment instead of the trunk doesn't help. Leaving the windows open doesn't help. I either have to carry my deodorant into the building where I work, then hopefully remember to take it back out with me or switch to a spray deodorant, which I don't like. I guess I'm buying some spray deodorant today. That is all.
CLIFFSStick deodorant melts when left in car.
Switching to spray deodorant.
Not happy. :'(

Why not switch to clear gel in a stick? And/or park in the shade if you can.

I haven't tried the clear gel, but it's already GEL...I would imagine that putting it in the sun would turn it to water. I tried parking under a tree AND using my mirrored sun-shade you put in the windshield. No difference.

I never knew salt stick deodorant even existed. In emergency dehydration scenarios, I guess you can use it as a salt-lick too? I'll try anything at this point...irritates the crap out of me throwing away $20 worth of perfectly good...but melted...deodorant.

No, the gel just gets....hot. I have had no problems with it even after months in the trunk.

/note to self: do not put pressurized aerosol containers in car that exceeds 140F
Maybe I need to try another brand of solid, then. I've been using Right Guard Total Defense: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=138535&catid=183886
I like it, but it melts if you look at it wrong.

I'd just take it into work in a plastic bag (like a Walmart bag or whatever).

Have you considered getting an ice chest and leaving in there?

I've always used clear sticks & they never outright melted. They'd become a bit liquidy, but stored in my car for an entire summer without major incident.

Lasts forever, too. I've been using the same stick for a couple of years now, and it's almost time to replace it. That will make up for what you lost in the upholstery.
(Don't follow the directions on the package. Just put it on after a shower when your pits are still wet. Then store it upside-down.)

I could but don't want to. It's packed in my shaving kit, which is in my gym bag. I already carry my lunch pail and coffee travel mug into work every day...really don't want deodorant in my pocket...it's just weird.
I will go shopping today and check out a few different brands. If they have that salt stick thing I'll try it. If not, probably will buy one of the brands mentioned that "don't melt." Though I'm not sure if it get really hot where you guys live. Texas=big time heat.

LOL!
OP, maybe some people would think it's weird, but who cares? f*ck em. Stick it in your pocket, take it into work, and put it in your desk or whatever.
