Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (2024)

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is doing right by RPG players and making their choices matter a lot more with the Mythic Path mechanic. It's a progression system that rewards players with more powers and abilities based on their alignment choices. Whereas other RPGs simply offer narrative or material payoffs, Wrath of the Righteous turns your characters into demigods.

Of course, the choices can get rather overwhelming for many players, and they might end up with quarter-god instead of a demigod. As such, we've evaluated which among the Mythic Path abilities can make characters overpowered in the simplest way possible. Don't go joining the crusade without these perks.

10 Last Stand

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (1)
  • Purpose: Staying alive after zero HP

If you find your character dying too often in Wrath of the Righteous, which is particularly frequent for melee characters that aren't tanks, then you might want to grab this one. Last Stand is a low-level Mythic Path ability that lets your character power through zero HP.

More than that, any character who has this ability and triggers it will be immune to damage for two rounds or turns. Afterward, they'll fall to their death if they aren't healed. Now you can finally commit to the melee glass cannon build of your dreams.

9 Limitless Rage

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (2)
  • Purpose: Unlimited uses of Rage per day

One of the most useful and handy skills in the game is Rage, which is a spell that's the trademark of most Barbarian sub-types. Thus, Rage can turn any melee character into something of a Barbarian themselves. It grants +2 to any offensive roll that matters in calculating melee attacks at the cost of a small armor penalty.

Too bad it has limited uses since it can get overpowered fast. With Limitless Rage, you get to keep your melee character's blood boiling without the risk of their blood vessels swelling and prematurely giving them varicose veins before old age.

8 Abundant Casting

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (3)
  • Purpose: Increased casting capacity

Spells mostly cost slots and capacities per rest, making them rather limited. This prevents spellcasters from becoming too powerful and players will have to budget their spells tightly if they want to make things more manageable. Abundant Casting alleviates this constraint a bit.

It adds more slots to a specific spell level or tier. It's not much, to be honest, and it's mostly Clerics or Oracles who will benefit from this. Still, it's a worthy investment for any party spellcaster. We recommend getting this one for your spellcasters before the Drezen siege.

7 Force Reality

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (4)
  • Purpose: Removing party debuffs

What makes encounters doubly frustrating in Wrath of the Righteous is that enemies are too liberal in stacking up their debuffs. Be it Negative Level or Ability Damage— even Diseases, you'll find that these insidious killers stacked on top of one another can be more dangerous than direct attacks.

Force Reality thankfully lets you clear all of that drivel from your party. It's essentially a Greater Dispel ability that promises to remove all "hindering abnormalities" for party members. That's pretty handy in lopsided mini-boss fights and encounters with lots of enemy spellcasters.

6 Mythic Charge

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (5)
  • Purpose: Added damage for the Charge ability

Ever wanted to kill an enemy before they can even get a turn or an attack within their round? The Charge maneuver does wonders for that, especially against softer targets. At times though, it can fall off against tougher enemies that still need to be dispatched quickly.

Mythic Charge adds divine damage to your Charge action— specifically, 1d6 per Mythic rank. This is pretty big and might be a bit overkill for enemy spellcasters. But seeing those troublemakers explode in a radiant piñata of red confetti is too satisfying.

5 Unrelenting Assault

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (6)
  • Purpose: Increased melee damage bonus per attack

This one's incredibly useful for prolonged boss fights or HP sponges. Unrelenting Assault makes it so that each melee attack your character makes per round or turn gets a stacking +2 bonus to damage rolls. Obviously, that damage roll bonus only applies to melee weapons.

This stacks up to a whopping maximum of +10. That's flat damage, not a dice roll. It easily adds up to critical or other damage bonuses. If the boss isn't dead yet by that time, they will be soon. It does reset per combat encounter, but still worth it.

4 Hell's Rule

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (7)
  • Purpose: Crowd control and direct damage spells

Hell's Rule is obtainable through the evil Mythic Paths and will only open up near the late game. It grants the Overwhelming Presence spell which acts as a mass control ability where the affected enemies will grovel at the sight of your majestic evil. They'll then be helpless and useless for the rest of the combat encounter unless they succeed a save.

Another spell it grants is the lethal Power Word Kill, usually available to high-level Sorcerers or Wizards. Having a spell like that at your disposal saves you some slots and also lets you take care of any irritating spellcaster that keeps hampering your party (assuming you still have one after committing to the evil alignment).

3 Legend

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (8)
  • Purpose: High stat boosts and level boost

Legend is the Mythic Path you'll reach once you dip into the eighth rank, and it's one of the most exciting rewards you're given. If you commit to this Mythic Path ability, all your ability scores (stats) will be increased by four. Also, your character's level cap will double up to 40.

To compensate for that level cap increase, you'll then gain experience even faster than before. It doesn't affect your alignment which makes it great for neutral gameplay but the downside is you'll be sacrificing access to Mythic Path abilities and feats (except the ones in this branch).

2 Eye Of The Swarm

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (9)
  • Purpose: Turning your character into a swarm-type creature with stat boosts and new perks

Looking for unconventional excitement and a unique way to be evil in a CRPG? Well, look no further than the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path. It's by far the most difficult Mythic Path to unlock as it requires a commitment to the Crusade Management mode but it's well worth it.

Eye of the Swarm, for that matter, is the Mythic Path's most eye-catching ability. No pun intended. It classifies your character as a swarm and increases their Strength and Dexterity by four. Additionally, they'll also be immune to several physical effects such as poison and stun. Damage is also increased and any enemy that attacks you gets damage as well. It doesn't end there, this ability is just the beginning.

1 Gold Dragon Form

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous - 10 Most Powerful Mythic Path Abilities (10)
  • Purpose: You get to turn into a dragon

Then again, turning into a bunch of pesky houseflies isn't the most elegant way to become a demigod. For those of you that prefer style and pride, then you'll be pleased to know that you can turn your character into a golden dragon, similar to what Terendelev did during the opening gameplay sequence.

Along with this, you get a bunch of buffs and boosts fitting for a dragon. Increased size, adult dragon stat boosts, new attacks moves and spells, and you also get to breathe fire and slap some disrespectful plebs with your tail.
